FRANCISCO TO START

Guineas Plans Revised

The Riccarton trainer, V. D. Clutterbuck, has revised his plans about a start for Francisco in the Dunedin Guineas next Saturday. Unless unforeseen circumstances prevent it Francisco will probably . travel south next Wednesday with his stablemate. Cheyenne.

Francisco had to miss a start in the John Grigg Stakes at Ashburton last Saturday week because of a cold and his trainer announced during the week that the Isaac of York three-year-old would also forego his Dunedin Guineas engagement.

Francisco's condition had ' improved considerably by the week-end and whereas the cold kept-him off his food he is now eating normally again. His trainer also considers the horse will need a race to fit him for a campaign at Trentham next month. A start for Francisco at Wingatui will heighten interest in the Dunedin classic and his clash with the John Grigg Stakes winner, Burgos, should be one of the highlights on the second day of the Dunedin spring meeting.
