SPECTATORS KILLED

Collapse Of Barrier

(N.Z.PA.-Reuter— Copyright) GLASGOW, Sept 16.

Two persons were killed and more than 50 injured when a crash barrier gave way at the end of the Ran-gers-Celtic Scottish League Soccer game at Glasgow today. Apparently the barrier collapsed, hurling more than 600 people forward beneath the feet of other spectators. The stands were packed with 70.000 fans.

Glasgow police and ambulance workers rushed to the scene, and more than 35 persons were taken from the stadium on stretchers. Others, dazed with shock, were treated on the spot. A police spokesman said it might have been “a major disaster, but fortunately the crowd kept their heads."
