Old Boys Rugby
The Old Boys Rugby club’s colts team, formed this year, will end its programme with a match against a team from the Manners club at Rugby Park on Wednesday. It will be something of an occasion, in several respects. The Manuera team, from Counties, plays in the second grade, and the side, rising through the grades, has not been beaten in three years. Old Boys Colts, established to provide a nucleus of players for the senior grade, and coached by Mr W. D. Whitham to play attractive and constructive Rugby, is drawn from players in the senior reserve, junior and under 20 grades. The colts have played a succession of matches against country teams, and they have, win or lose, played fast and open football. On the same day—which is designed to bring dub players, members and supporters together—the Old Boys senior team will play a team of Old Boys from country districts. The country team includes some experienced and able players, among them C. Heslop, H. Healop, F. Meyer. F. Loe. G. Loe. and D. Richards.
