DRAMA AND THE VISUAL ARTS A Limited Number of competitive awards will be made by the Council to be taken up in 1982. The scheme of awards will be flexible; the awards will be made according to the needs of the applicant and the facilities available. Candidates must show evidence of serious study and training for a career in the arts. In ballet, candidates should have passed at least one major examination of a recognised body or have reached an equivalent standard. Candidates who are selected to come to Wellington for final consideration will be expected to meet their own expenses. Value of Awards: Within New Zealand, up to £5OO. Overseas. £5OO, plus £125 grant-in-aid for travel. Overseas awards will be considered only where there is strong evidence of exceptional talent. Applications close on October 16, 1961.
