SUSPECTED ARSON

Three Fires In House

Police suspect arson in a fire last evening in an unoccupied house at 93 Ferry road It was the third fire at the two-storeyed house in less than a week and a half. Fires were attended there last Saturday night and the previous Saturday night. The building was well alight when the two units from the Central fire station arrived about 9 p.m., but the blaze was almost out within 15 minutes. Heavy damage was done. The fire was concentrated at the back of the house and the top of the stairs. Slight damage was done to the roof. The three back rooms have now been gutted. A detective said that arson was suspected after the second fire, but there were no obvious signs of it. Reports of investigations being carried out by police experts into the possible method of setting fire to the house were not yet available.
