Niue Kumaras
Niue Island kumaras from the Tofua were sold in the Christchurch produce markets yesterday. There were about 500 bags for Christchurch. Red kumaras sold for 80s a bag in the markets and Is 9d a pound in the shops. White kumaras sold for 35s a bag and Is 6d a pound.
