Dental Health Talks End

WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. Discussions on dental health concluded today at the twelfth session of the World Health Organisation’s Western Pacific regional committee which has been meeting since Thursday in Wellington. One of the committee who spoke was Dr. G. H. Leslie, director of the Dental Division, Health Department. He dealt with the New Zealand Dental Service. The regional committee meeting will conclude tomor. row. There will be a scenic tour for those delegates not immediately returning home.

“Alcoholism Week.”—The South African National Council on Alcoholism is to embark on a nation-wide campaign to bring home to the public the seriousness of the problem of alcoholism, and remove the stigma attached to the “disease.” The highlight of the campaign will be the staging next year of a “national alcoholism week,” which will be preceded by a five-week publicity campaign.—Pretoria.
