The Tasman Empire Airways Service to American Samoa will begin on September 16. The United States Government has approved the starting of operations through Tafanua Airport Calls will be made at Tafanua on eastbound and westbound Coral Route services between Fiji and Tahiti, Feeder service connexions with Western Samoa will be provided by Polynesian Airlines.

Planes will leave Auckland at 7 p.m. on Saturdays via Nandi and arrive at Tafanua at 7 10 a.m. on Saturdays. after crossing the international date line. The Samoan service by Electra planes is being resumed almost exactly a year after the Solent flying-boat service ended. This lasted for eight years before the Solents were withdrawn.
