The average cost of medical social security prescriptions paid in the Christchurch pricing district last month exceeded IDs tor the first time, according to the medical officer of health <Dr L. F Jepson). The cost was IDs 0.529 d, an increase of about l|d on July and of about Is 7?d on the figure for August, 1960
The total cost of the prescriptions paid was £142.145 18s 3d for the month, against £117.736 19s 7d in the previous month and £108.619 5s 2d in August. 1960.
The number of prescriptions paid was 279.028 in August. 1961. compared with 233.017 in July and 253,610 in August last year.
