Situation: A warm front is moving slowly southwards over the Waikato and the Bay of Plenty and a ridge of high pressure lies to the south and southeast of the South Island. Forecast:
Marlborough and Nelson: South-east winds, mainly moderate, but fresh to strong about Cook Strait and northern areas of Nelson; cloudy with occasional rain; moderate temperatures. Outlook: Unsettled. Buller: Light variable winds; cloudy, with light rain developing, chiefly in the north; moderate temperatures. Outlook: Occasional rain. Westland:—Light variable winds, partly cloudy; mild day temperatures. Outlook: cloudy, with some occasional rain in the north. Canterbury:—Light to moderate north-east winds predominating; some fog patches this morning and some cloudy areas near the coast, otherwise partly cloudy; mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook cloudy.
