TRUCK IN RIVER

Two Men Missing

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 28. Two men are missing after * river pant carrying a laden manure truck capsized in about 16 feet of water on the Waikato river at Mercer about 735 tonight. A third man swam to safety. Those missing are: Mr Howard Cooper, aged about 30, married, with two children, of Mercer,- and Mr William Tonga, aged about 30, single, of Mercer. The third man is Mr Victor Brown, aged about 24, of Tuakau. All the men are drivers employed by the Roose Shipping Company, Ltd. Residents and other employees of the company scoured the banks of the river until a late hour. Others, using powerful searchlights from boats, searched from the water. •An Auckland skindiver. L. Subritzky, will conduct an underwater search tomorrow.
