Music Centre Set Up
An international centre has been created in Vienna for the promotion and dissemination .of music through television, radio, film and recordings. The centre, which will be directed by Dr. Wilfried Schelb of the Austrian radio and television network, was set up at the close of an international seminar on “Music Education Through Technical Media,” held recently in Vienna by the International Music Council and the International Society for Music Education. The new centre will run an information and a documentation service, publish catalogues and organise congresses, seminars and contests, including the next Salzburg Opera Prize Contest in 1962 and the Salzburg International Congress on Music and Television, which will also take place next year (U-NXSjOO.)
