DUKE’S STUDY CONFERENCE
Names Of 10 Men Sent Forward
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 25. The Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) announced today that the following men had been recommended as New Zeeland’s representatives to attend the Duke of Edinburgh's second Commonwealth Study Conference in Canada in May, 1962: Messrs E. H. Adams (Invercargill). B Alderdice (Christchurch), N J. Clarke (Paeroa), A. R Dellow (Wellington), N. Finch (Auckland), B A. Manson (Invercargill), H. P. Puriri (Wellington), A. G. Rodda (Wellington), R. E. Taylor (Wellington), H S J Tilly (Du-nedin). Mr Alderdice is secretary of the Canterbury. Westland. Nelson and Marlborough Motion Picture Operators’ Union, secretary of the Canterbury Dental Assistants’ and Technicians’ Union and assistant secretary of the Canterbury Amalgamated Shop Assistants’ Union. He was nominated by the Federation of Labour. Mr Shand emphasised that the names had gone forward as recommended nominees to the conference authorities in Canada with whom the final decision rested. The conference is to discuss the human consequences of the changing industrial environment in the Commonwealth and Empire.
