Convalescent Home Proposed
A plan to convert the Cannon Estate homestead at 52 Cannon Hill orescent, St. Andrews Hill, into a convalescent home, has been placed before the City Council town-planning committee. The homestead is in the area of about 400 acres amalgamated with the city on April-1, and was formerly in the Heathcote county. The town-planning scheme being prepared by the City Council proposes to zone the afba in which the homestead is situated as residential A. A convalescent home is a conditional use of residential A land, and the council must therefore advertise the proposed use. asking for objections. if any, from the occupiers of nearby properties. Objections must be lodged with the Acting-Town Clerk (Mr C. S. Bowie) before noon on Friday. September 8.
