RESTRICTION ON STORES
Auckland Council’s Decision - j “The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, August 22. Auckland department stores in future must obtain a licence from the City Council for any show or function of a public nature attended by 200 or more persons. This was decided by- the council when it adopted a joint report from the Town Clerk (Mr F. J. GwiUiam) and the City Engineer (Mr A. J. Dickson). If a show or display is expected to attract 100 people or more over the normal maximum, however, the firm must obtain approval, though not a licence, from the council building =urve- — - r ’ J chief fire officer. This is subject to appeal to —.—i should the firm object.
