EASTERFIELD MEDAL

1961 Award Made To Mr T. Turney (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. The Easterfield medal for 1981 has been awarded to Mr T. A Turney, senior lecturer in chemistry at Auckland University, for his research work on nitrous acid. The award is made by the New Zealand section of the Royal Institute of Chemistry for research work in chemistry carried out in New Zealand and is in honour of the late Sir Thomas Easter, field. Mr Turney will receive the medal at a special session of the institute in Auckland later this month.
