TENNIS BEHAVIOUR ON COURT
Directive To Umpires (N.Z, Press Association) WELLINGTON. Aug. 22. Court behaviour is the major concern of lawn tennis enthusiasts throughput the world, says the annual report of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Umpires’ Association, to be presented to a meeting on September 1. In this respect the N.Z.LT..A. management committee had decided to ask refereees at all tournaments to take particular responsibility for the behaviour of players on courts. The report states that the N.Z.L.T.U.. and district umpires associations had been asked to makb it clear to all umpires that they are expected to speak to players guilty of unsuitable conduct. In the case of extreme and continued misbehaviour on the court the referee should intervene, the report continues. The referee should report to the tournament manager any player who fails to respond to such correction.
