Cycling EMPIRE GAMES TRACK TRIALS
Wanganui Venue Next Year (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 22. The New Zealand A series of special Empire Games track trials will be staged by the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association early next year, according to a decision made by the association’s council tonight. These events will be held at Cooks Gardens, Wanganui, on the Thursday and Saturday after the national hard track championships in Christchurch iti March.
The national selectors (Messi’s W. Pidwell and E. G. Burke) will name a list of trialists after the championships and these riders will be sponsored by thp association. Other riders will be eligible to compete at the trials provided they are nominated by their centres. Mr N. M. Walls, of Foxton. president of the West Coast North Island Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Club, was appointed a delegate to the association’s national council in place of Mr L. G. King, also of Foxton, who has resigned. .
