Support For N.A.T.O.

(N.Z Press Assn—Copyright) OTTAWA, August 22.

The Canadian Cabinet is studying ways to boost Canada’s North Atlantic Treaty Organisation contribution with both men and conventional weapons, the Prime Minister (Mr Diefenbaker) said today. While no formal request has been made by the N.A.T.O. permanent council in Paris, all 15 member countries were reviewing their military contributions to the West European defence pool in view of the Berlin crisis, he said. Canadian Press reported. Canadian planning was along the conventional rather than nuclear weapons lines, Mr Diefenbaker emphasised.
