The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev A K. Warren) has entered a private hospital for treatment to his back He will not be able to fulfil any engagements for some weeks.
Sir James Fletcher, chairman of Fletcher Holdings, Ltd., is one of 500 world business leaders who will attend an international industrial conference in San Francisco from September 11 to 15. (P.A.) Mr N. C. Rees, M. 8., 8.5.. F.R.C.S., has been appointed as the first Medical Superintendent of the Hastings Memorial Hospital. Born in Wales, Mr Rees is at present assistant surgeon at Taumarunui Hospital. He is expected to begin his duties at Hastings early in November—(P.A.)
