Smart Run At Caulfield

/A/.Z Press Assn.—CovynpM) MELBOURNE, August 21. The New Zealand stayer. Blue Lodge, a fancied cups hope, ran fourth in a six furlong and a half race trial at Caulfield today. The heat was won by the locally-trained sprinter. Prince Lea. in Imin 23sec. the second fastest heat over that distance. The owner, Mr L- Donald, said Blue Lodge would have his first race in Australia in the Whittier Handicap at Caulfield on September 2. His jockey, C. McLachlan, satd he was pleased with the run. There were 13 starters in Blue Lodge’s heat. He made the home turn well, but ran at his leisure in the straight.
