Home Sought For Child (N.Z. Pres* AWocfatUMf AUCKLAND. August 9. The Child Welfare Division is inquiring into the circumstances of a newspaper advertisement from Australia published in Auckland today seeking foster parents in New Zeeland for a child to be born in October. The director of the division in Auckland (Mr K. Flint) said that he would write to the advertisers warning them that such action was illegal in New Zealand under the provisions of ihe Infants Aet, 1908. The advertisement said that the parents of the unborn child were "professional class Australians” who would visit New Zealand periodically to see their child. The ■ advertisement also stated a weekly stipend would be paid by arrangement. and a Roman Catholic family was preferred to look after the child.
