Border Beaten, 17-9 (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copy rig’.l) EAST LONDON, August 8. Hie Australian Rugby team won the last provincial match of its South African tour when it beat Border, 17-9. at East London today. The Australians scored two tries - (one converted), two penalty goals, and a dropkicked goal. J. Dowse scored 11 points from the kicks. Winning the toss. Australia played against the wind, and in the early stages was strictly on the defensive After 23 minutes Dowse goaled a free kick from 30 yards out in front of the posts. 3-aU at Half-time
Minutes before half-time. Border was back inside the Wallabies’ twenty-five and from this position Schuddinh landed a penalty goal to make the half-time score 3all. In the second half, the Australian backs scored two tries to Border's one. Their second try came near the end when Stewart cut between the centres, beat his marker and ran 40 yards to score behind the posts. Tempers were getting frayed among the forwards and Dowse scored the final points from a penalty, gosling as the final whistle went.
