Concessions
Sir,—Your correspondent, “Under-Age Theatre-Lover," who, I take it, is somewhere between 14 and 64, might, I think, have given us geriatrics a chance to express our own thanks to the theatre managers concerned. I, personally, had every intention of doing so when permitted by the weather to take advantage of their generous gesture. More especially would I have commented on the really charming delicacy which defines my status as “senior citizen,” a distinction which suggests responsibility without a corresponding stigma of senility. The gentle reproof implicit in your correspondent's letter is more suitable to first child-
hood than second. Given time, we ancients can usually be depended upon to acknowledge kindness whenever we find it.—Yours, etc., METHUSELAH’S MOTHER. August 9, 1961.
