MALVERN POWER SUPPLY

No Increase To Consumers

Although bulk power supply charges are to be increased from October 1, the Malvern Electric Power Board has decided it can absorb the increase without, in the meantime, charging higher retail rates to its consumers. The secretary-manager of the board (Mr B. J. Harris) said yesterday that information had been received from the Minister of Electricity (Mr Goosman) that the bulk supply charges would be increased from £4 to £4 5s a kilowatt a quarter in October. In the meantime, he said, the board would absorb the increase.
