NEW PARISH BUILDING

Application For Loan

A loan of £11,900 has been applied for from the Church Property Trustees by the vestry of St. Stephen’s parish, Shirley. The money is to assist with the cost of the new parish building programme. The plans, which will be made final at a meeting tomorrow, make provision for a hall and a parish lounge with accommodation for about 80, and offices. The building is planned around three sides of a square, forming a precinct open to the road. A covered way will link the block to the church. Tenders will be called soon.
