Fish Very Scarce Fish is very scarce in Christchurch shops, and supplies today at the markets are not expected to improve. Yesterday there were only 12 cases of fish for sale, a normal market being about 4000 cases. One fish retailer said yesterday that he could not remember paying such high prices for fish. Tarakihi sold in shops yesterday up to 3s 6d a pound and sole fillets at 6s 6d a pound. Ling was 2s 6d and herrings Is 6d. Blue cod and red cod was 4s and 3s a pound respectively. It was not known last evening when boats could get out.
