U.S. CHIEF JUSTICE
Visit To NX Next Week (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 13. Mr Ear] Warren, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United. States will visit New Zealand soon as a guest of the Government, the prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) announced today. Mr Warrbn, who js attending the Australian Legal Convention, will arrive in Wellington next Thursday. Among the functions he will attend are a Ministerial luncheon to be held in hi* honour next Friday, and a bar dinner of the Wellington Law Society. He will leave New Zealand on July 24. Before his appointment as Chief Justice in 1953, Mr Warren was a prominent political figure. In 1948 he was the Republican nominee for the United States VicePresidency. and in 1952 he was a candidate for the Republican nomination for the Presidency. From 1943 to 1953 he was Governor of California.
