Rugby Player Gets Life Suspension

WHANGAREI. July 13. A Motatau club Rugby player, K. also known as Steven Lemon, was lari evening suspended for life by the judicial committee of the Bay of Islands Rugby Union When Lemon’s case was brought before the committee, it was first decided to suspend him for the remainder of the season—eight playing Saturdays. After further deliberation, the committee finally suspended Lemon for life. It was said that at the end at last season Lemon was suspended for two playing Saturdays for alleged rough tactics, late tackling, and abusing a referee. Barred This Season At the beginning of this year, the union barred Lerr.cn from playing for the first four Saturdays of the season. Henderson) said: “I won’t stand rough play and late tackles, and especially abuse of our referees.” His son had been seriously injured and had to drop Rugby because of late tackling. he said. “I don’t want to see any other player suffer the same fate and it seems that Lemon cannot help himself." he said. "He should be barred for life.”
