NTH. AMERICAN CLUB

July 4 Party Held In Christchurch Canadian Dominion Day and United States Independence Day were celebrated last evening at a dinner partv attended by 61 members of the North American Club in Christchurch. Mr W. A. Delaney, president of the club, welcomed the guests. Among those present were the patron of the club (Dr. L. L. Pownall, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canterbury), and Mrs Pownall; Mr W. G. Quirk (American consular agent) and Mrs Quirk; and Dr. and Mrs W. E. Powers. The guests were offered a delicious assortment of summer foods, including tossed salads, asparagus, chicken, and ham on the bone, such as are available in North America at this time of the year.
