Port Hills Roads Icy Yesterday
Christchurch had its fifth ; successive frost yesterdav morning, 10 7deg. being recorded at Harewood and lO.ldeg. at the Botanic Gardens. The road over Evan's Pass was icy, and cars had to travel very slowlv At ai sharp bend just above the! new harbour works an oil! tanker skidded and blocked! the road for about 20 minutes ' Lyttelton roads were icy in! the morning and the road from Governor’s Bay to the Sign of the Kiwi was also' icy until midday. Roads in the city were! ’•quite good,” according to taxi-drivers.
