COLOMBO PLAN

Students Visit Parliament (N.Z. Press Auoctation) WELLINGTON, July 2. Students from 21 different countries gathered in the social room of Parliament yesterday to participate in the Prime Minister's reception to mark the tenth anniversary of the Colombo Plan. The national costumes worn by the students lent a colourful air to the function, which was attended ty members of Parliament, departmental heads, and members of the diplomatic corps. “I can well remember 10 years ago when we sat round the Cabinet table and wondered just what would be achieved with this Colombo Plan.” said the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake). “It turned out to be a fine Commonwealth venture and its growth and development have been outstanding.”
