SALVATION ARMY CENTENARY
London Celebrations In 1965 Delegates from New Zealand will be present at the Salvation Army international congress in London to celebrate the centenary of the organisation during the summer of 1965. Discussions are now being held about the New Zealand representation at the London centenary and also the New Zealand celebrations. William Booth began the work, which has grown into the Salvation Army operating in 86 countries, when he walked into the East End of London on a hot, summer evening at the end of June. 1865, and took part in an open-air gathering being held by a small group of Christian evangelists.
