Snow Damage In Otago <NZ. Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 2. A major casualty of the snow in West Otago at the week-end was the largest woolshed in New Zealand and Australia, that at Moa Flat Downs, u hich collapsed under fie weight of snow’ on it. Covering a ground area of half an acre, the shed was used by four farmers. The woolshed collapsed on F. say night, in much the same way as did the same s vd in 1890. The weight of the show on one of the walls and on one side of the 280 ft-long rounded galvanised iron roof caused the walls to collapse, and most of the roof to fall The cost of replacing the walls and roof to bring the building back to its previous slate would be quite prohibitive. said Mr M. T. F. Devereux, one of the four fanners. The cost of replacing the whole shed has been estimated at £28,000.
