NEW POST FOR MR B. COLLINS
Scientist To Edit Journal Mr B, W. Collins, a senior scientific officer on the Christchurch staff of the Geo. logical Survey, has been appointed editor of the “New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics?' Mr Collins was educated at Sumner School. Christchurch Boys’ Higii S'ffiool. and the i University of Canterburv, [where he graduated with an MSc degree in 1940. He joined the Geological Survev m Timaru in 1946. after several vears of oil prospect■ng m New Guinea and New Zealand and a period as an industrial chemist. Returning to Christchurch in 1949. Mr Collins remained in the city until 1957. when he was appointed assistant New Zealand scientific liaison officer in London, a position from which he returned in February of this year. Mr Collins will take up his new post in a few weeks in Wellington.
