Plunket Medal For Oratory Awarded

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 23. The Plunket Medal for oratory was awarded in Wellington tonight to Mr F. A. Hamlin. He won the fifty-fifth contest conducted by the Victoria University of Wellington Debating Society. The award was presented by the Governor - General (Lord Cobham). Nelsen Hospital Appointment.—Dr. H. J. Hiddlestone, resident physician and senior specialist at Nelson Hospital, b.s been appointed medical superintendent of the hospital. He will take up his new position on the retirement of Dr. P. C. E. Brunette within the next two months. Dr. Hiddlestone is 36 years of age. There were six applicants for the position.
