ARMY WINDOW DISPLAY
Model Of Bailey Bridge The sth Independent Field Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Engineers, which recently built a Bailey bridge across the Clarence river, has built a model of a Bailey bridge in the window of an earth-moving equipment Arm in Cashel street. This is part of a display, prepared during week-ends and evenings by men of the squadron under ’he direction of Sergeant V W. Berry, which shows equipment used for training. The scale model of a Bailey bridge occupies most of the window space. It demonstrates normal and; floating bridging. Mines. 1 a -mine detector, a portable pumping set. and compressed air tools for use with the unit’s modern free-piston air compressor are also shown, as well as wireless transmitters and a large outboard motor. Trophies won bv the squadron are also shown.
