Bill Defines Army Subordinates
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 23 A New Zealand Army Amendment Bill introduced m the House of Representatives today defines a subordinate commander as being an officer commanding a company, squadron or battery upon whom subordin ate commander's powers have been conferred by hits commanding officer and also any other officer upon whom such powers have been conferred. It provides that the Army Board may restore loss of seniority or forfeited seniority in the case of a soldier as well as an officer or noncommissioned officer. Where people are convicted by court-martial of desertion, or of absence without leave for 28 days or more, the period of absence will be forfeited for the purposes of pay rises or benefits, or promotion.
