A wall built around cabbage trees at Bumside High School was officially presented to the school by the Canterbun’ Pilgrims' and Early Settlers' Association vesterday in a ceremony in the school hall Tlie wall, which also has a seat, was built about a month ago To mark the occasion yesterday a commemorative tree was given by Miss R Reynolds, who was acting for her mother Mrs F J Reynolds, the prime mover in preserving the: trees Mrs Reynolds was a daughter of Mr Josenh Richards. one of the first settlers in the district The trees have become a symbol in the school emblem [ The wall was presented bv M.
