Chilean Ship Not Coming

The Chilean naval training ship. Esmeralda, wild not visit Lyttelton. The secretary-manager of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr A L. Burk) was advised yesterday by the New Zealand Naval Board that it appreciated the gesture of the chairman and members of the board in extending an invitation to the ship to visit Lyttelton. but unfortunately time did not permit U to visit Lyttelton. The member of Parliament tor Lyttelton (Mr N. E. Kirk), who supported the board's application to the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre), expressed his regret that the Esmeralda was not able to visit southern ports.
