New Thoughts On Project “We are going out to sell the idea.’* said the chairman of the City Council's airport committee <Cr. A. R Guthreyl yesterday, when he announced that the committee had approached. moot of those who hod shows Urtereet in the proposal far a hotel or motel on about five acres of land at the airport, and would try to let the land by negotiation. When the council called tenders recently it failed to attract any. Cr. Guthrey aaid that perliaps the terms were a little high, and the fact that the council was not prepared to sell the freehold of the site might have dissuaded some who were interested
New Zealand Breweries. Ltd- was negotiating for a site in Wooldridge road orv which to build a luxury hotel and Cr. Guthrey said that if the project eventuated it would probably be uneconomic to build another major hotel on the couoaii'g land at. the airport nearby.
