EXCHANGE OF LAND
University For Hamilton (NJ! Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 11 The Hamilton Teachers' Training College and University wiU be built on 47 acres in Hillcrest road as a result of an exchange of land bought by the Government with land held by the Waikato Hospital Hoard, the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) announced tonight In January, 1959, the previous Government set aside 78 acres at the Ruakura animal research station for the purpose, but later land was bought in Tramway road, which the Waikato Hospital Board was prepared to accept tn exchange for 47 acres in Hillcrest road.
During the period of negotiation. plan* were prepared and although the target tor occupation was 19®. Mr Tennent said, it was apparent that the buildings and grounds would not be ready until 1964
