Good Public Relations

Although postal relicensing has eased the burden, the Post Office annually copes with an extraordinary rush of business at its counters when motorists relicense their cars. It was an excellent idea to issue a special postal appeal, with relicensing forms and wellprepared instructions, to residents of Fendalton, whose post office facilities are inadequate at this time of year. If the Fendalton experiment proves as suc-

cessful as it deserves to be, the Post Office should consider extending it to a much wider area next year. There may be reasons why such a scheme would be uneconomic for general adoption as a supplement to other relicensing procedures; but the prototype merits praise if only because it show's how good public relations can help to promote departmental efficiency and enlist cooperation.
