MAIL FROM KATANGA
Novel Address Finds Home Geography may not be a strong point in the new African State of Katanga, but the post office there and the New Zealand Post Office lack nothing in efficiency, according to Mr I. De Spa, a Belgian resident of Christchurch. who received an air mail letter from Elizabethville this week with no delay. It was addressed to "Nekton road. Christ, New Zealand, (Tndochine)" but reached Weston road safely and with no sign of having come via Indo-China. The eight-francs stamp (about Is Id) of the new state showed grotesque natives crushing ore, and the name of the state was printed in both French and Swahili.
