LONG-SERVICE MEDALS

Presentation At Wigram Long-service good-conduct medals will be presented to 12 men and women of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigiram when the Queen’s Birthday parade is held there at 1 pm. on Friday. The medals are awarded for more than 18 years’ service. The 10 men who will receive the medals are Flight Lieutenant L. F. Heyer. Flight Sergeant J. T. Sadler. Sergeants C. B. Hansen and M.’ J. Small, Corporals A. Carass. J. E. Samuel, R. J. Carrington, and N. H. Watts, and Leading Aircraftman A. S. Gillespie. Two women, Flight Sergeant A. N. Pettigrew and Sergeant H. S. Robinson, will also receive medals. The commanding officer at Wigram (Group Captain S. G. Quill) will present the medals. After the medals have been presented the parade will honour the Queen's Birthday. The Royal Standard will be unfurled and will be saluted by the guard of honour, and the station band will play the National Anthem as the Royal Standard is broken out.
