New Areas In Soviet Union

(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—CopyrtoHt) MOSCOW. May 29. The Soviet Union is to be divided up into a network of 17 big new economic areas in the interests of integrated development of the national economy, the Soviet news agency Taes reported. The areas will be called North . Western, Central, Volga - Vyatsky. Central Black Soil Volga. North Caucasus, Urals, West Siberian, East Siberian. Far Eastern, Donets • Dnieper, SouthWestern. Southern, Western. Trans - Caucasian, Central Asian, and Kazakhstan. The Belo-Russian and Moldavian republics will remain independent administrative economic areas. Under the previous network of 13 big economic areas, populations varied from 3.000,000 to 45.000.000. but under the new scheme population will not exceed 15.000.000 in any one area.
