WAINONI BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP
Recognition Of New Church
The Wainoni Baptist Fellowship was officially recognised as a fully - constituted Baptist church at a ceremony at the church centre yesterday.
Conducted by the chairman of the Canterbury-West-land Baptist Association (the Rev. L. S. Armstrong) the ceremony was also addressed by the Rev. E. T. Jones, a church home missionary of the association who gave a scripture reading. The Rev. R. M. Upton, associate minister of the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church who will have the control of the parish of South Brighton, received new members into the church. The Rev. Roland Hart of the Oxford Terrace Church led the congregation in prayers of dedication.
The parish's buildings now comprise one renovated house converted into classrooms and on? other building on property purchased recently. A new all-purpose building to be used as a combined church and hall is planned.
