Withdrawal Of Raw Milk

IN.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, May 26. Raw milk is not available to consumers in the Wanganui milk district. The Wanganui Milk Authority has withdrawn it temporarily. Tests by the Health Department have found evidence of brucella abortus, the organism responsible for undulant fever in humans, in samples of bulk milk supplied to the milk treatment station. It is hoped to have raw milk available again as soon as the treatment station has the necessary equipment to deal with contaminated bulk supplies. Of 14 cans tested from one supplier, five showed the presence of brucella abortus.
