FORMER LEPERS VISITED

Rehabilitation In Fijian Centre

Although cured of leprosy, some former patients suffer permanent incapacity as a result of the disease. Twentyfive former patients, cared for by the leiprosy rehabilitation centre at Korovou, in Fiji, were visited recently by the secretary of the Lepers’ Trust Board (Mr P. J. Twomey) in the course of his tour of leprosy establishments, in the South-west Pacific. The Korovou centre, now named Saint Elizabeth’s Home, was entirely provided by the lepers' Trust Board. One wall carries a plaque saying that the home is a gift of the people of New Zealand.
