FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A complex trough of low pressure is moving eastwards over New Zealand; an active depression lies south of Tasmania. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Fresh southerly winds decreasing slowly; weather cloudy and showery but the showers clearing this afternoon in South Canterbury; rather cold temperatures. Outlook: fine. West Coast.—Moderate southerly winds; weather fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: scattered showers in the far south. Nelson.—Moderate southerlies: weather cloudy and cool with a few scattered showers. Outlook: fine. Marlborough.—South or south-east winds, strong in exposed coastal positions; weather cloudy and rather cold with occasional showers, especially in coastal areas. Outlook: weather clearing.
